Sienna Miller Online is dedicated to supporting the career of the British actress, model and fashion designer Sienna Miller.
Stay up-to-date with the latest news here, plus find extensive information on her career, and a large photo gallery.
A couple of days ago I added some new candids of Sienna out and about in Central London with her friend and fellow actress Helen McCrory. Sienna and Helen worked together in Sienna’s first stage production, As You Like It, back in 2005, and have been friends ever since!
Way back in 2002 Sienna had a tiny role on the British (?) TV show The American Embassy, in what would’ve been one of her first professional screen jobs! By some lucky chance, today I was able to find the show (after all these years of searching!), so I’ve added exclusive screencaps from her appearance. She really did have a small role, playing the girl at the desk at a beauty salon/hairdressers or something, and had about 2 lines.
I’m trying get a downloadable video version for you, so I’ll post that as soon as I can. Meanwhile, enjoy these very rare screencaps, only here at Sienna Online!
Please do not re-post these screencaps elsewhere, including at forums, tumblrs etc.
IONCinema.com have posted the first stills and synopsis from Yellow! The still featuring Sienna has been added to our Gallery, and you can view the other one, which I think must be of ‘Mary’, at the link I just posted.
The film sounds good, I think! Sienna seems to really like this kind of role, and she always plays them well. Can’t wait to hear and see more about this film.
Mary (Heather Wahlquist) has problems. She has a difficult time feeling things, and swallowing twenty Vicodin a day doesn’t help. She’s seeing a psychiatrist for the disconnect daydreams she keeps having, and her younger sister with Tourette’s hates her. When she loses her job after sleeping with one of the fathers on Parent’s Night, Mary decides to go home. And that’s when the fun really starts. The dreams that seemed so random now start to take real shape as we understand where she came from. From young and in love, to drug dealing on the road, to her father’s slow, painful death, from questions of love and incest to her older sister’s descent into insanity, the secret that destroyed Mary’s entire family reveals itself on her journey back home, along with her ultimate responsibility for it. Busby Berkeley, Cirque du Soleil, sideshow freaks and human livestock all make an appearance in this hallucinogenic tale of love and comeuppance.
Style.com have posted photos from Twenty8Twelve’s Autumn/Winter 2011 Lookbook, and as usual, Sienna is modelling some of the new line! She, and the clothes, look fantastic. See the full collection at the link I just posted (Sienna pics are now in our Gallery), and read Style.com’s review below – Savannah sounds like such a pro, and looks like they’ve done some very impressive work!
Last season, before Twenty8Twelve’s Spring show, a scrum of photographers pretty much turned into a pack of flash-wielding hyenas as Jude Law took his seat in the front row. Today that scene seemed a galaxy away, as Savannah Miller guided editors through a rack of her and sister Sienna’s new collection in a day of private appointments. “We wanted to focus on intimacy and building relationships,” she said. “It’s hard with a show and it can get quite theme-y. It’s fun, but it ended up looking like a bit of a circus. Like, ‘Crikey, who’s going to wear that?!’”
The one-on-one approach allowed her to show off the new level of quality that she’s achieved by finding not-exorbitant manufacturing in the U.K. Is domestic production sexier than Jude Law? Well, it could be, when you’re shopping for a perfect tuxedo blazer or a heavy gray wool flannel coat—both of which Miller’s managed to make quite impressively at a very nice price.
Other than a Parisian flair with a touch of beatnik chic, there wasn’t much of a theme. Instead, Miller described the collection best as a “perfect capsule winter wardrobe.” Along with strong basics, like a long gray cardie or smart unlined tweed coat, were more individual pieces like a lacquered lace and pleated chiffon party frock and a Fair Isle trompe l’oeil sweater dress and cardigan, all in one piece.
It’s a smart direction, as long as Twenty8Twelve can maintain a distinct viewpoint—part of which obviously comes from the famous half of this sister act, who was missing in action today. On that note, both Millers are planning a series of PAs in the U.S. in late spring.
I just came across this great video from the set of Yellow, from MUSEProductions, who I believe are the production company for the film.
Also, in the new BBC Breakfast interview (post below this one), Sienna mentions that her character in the film has Tourettes, so that will be interesting to see! She also said she thinks the film will come out this year.
Sienna appeared on BBC Breakfast this morning, to talk about her upcoming stage production Flare Path.
You can watch the full show at the BBC website, and I think it will play for everyone (BBC’s videos are sometimes country-restricted). Sienna appears at about 27 minutes in. I’ll be trying to get Sienna’s segment downloaded so I can upload it here for everyone. I’ll also be adding caps asap.
Sienna Miller was our final guest on the show talking about her latest role in the Terence Rattigan’s play Flare Path. Sienna Miller was joined by her director, the brilliant Trevor Nunn. Flare Path is the first of a series of productions Trevor will present as Artistic Director of the Theatre Royal Haymarket Company to celebrate Terence Rattigan’s Centenary Year.
EDIT: 220+ sceereencaps have now been added to the Gallery! Thanks to my friend Becca for her help grabbing the video.
Only a really quick shot of Sienna in this, and it looks to be the same shots we saw in the Glamour behind-the-scenes video.
The TK Maxx website also has a feature on the Comic Relief campaign, with some nice shots of Sienna, although again, the same pictures we’ve seen in Glamour magazine.
I mentioned on our Twitter that I would be working on adding 2009 candids to our Gallery this weekend, and I have now added a lot for you to get browsing through! All candids from January to September 2009, plus December from that year, have been added – that’s over 700 photos! Sienna had some great looks this year. Although I’ve gotta say, in some of the photos you can really see the chaos and swarming paparazzi around her, and it makes me feel bad for her! I can’t believe she puts up with it.
There are pretty much daily candids of her from October and November, so I will be going through and uploading them as quickly as possible.
On top of those candids, I’ve also added screencaps from Sienna’s special appearance in the Comic Relief 2009 Mamma Mia spoof, and from the behind the scenes footage from her 2009 GQ photoshoot.
That’s a whole lot of photos, so I hope you enjoy browsing them! The rest of those 2009 candids will be coming very soon so keep an eye on the Gallery.
The Theatre Royal Haymarket has Flare Path listed on it’s website now, and it has all the details on ticket prices, performance dates etc. Find all the information HERE, and book your tickets HERE.
Previews start on March 4th and Press Night (the official opening) for the play will be March 10th at 7pm.
IT SOUNDED like a promising idea for a film – the rebellious lives of the Australian hippie intelligentsia as they took on swinging London in the 1960s.
Based on a memoir by Richard Neville, Hippie Hippie Shake featured a who’s who of the counterculture including Germaine Greer, Jenny Kee and artists Martin Sharp and Jim Anderson. It centred on the launch of the London edition of the radical magazine Oz and the trial for distributing a sexually explicit issue.
Interest in the film increased when Greer lashed the writers for fashioning her likeness ”out of their own excreta”. But there was always going to be anticipation for a £20 million ($A32 million) film from the director of Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason, Beeban Kidron, and her husband, Lee Hall, who wrote Billy Elliot.
But three years after the film was shot in England, with Cillian Murphy playing Neville, Sienna Miller as his girlfriend Louise Ferrier, and Emma Booth as Greer, rumours that Hippie Hippie Shake has turned out dismally have proven accurate.
After a promised release failed to eventuate last year, the British production company Working Title has now confirmed – without explanation – that Hippie Hippie Shake will not reach cinemas at all.
Said Neville: ”We saw the first cut of the film – Jim, I and other Oz people – and there was a lot of disappointment among us.”
Anderson said the central problem with Hippie Hippie Shake was the portrayal of Neville. ”They ruined it by turning Richard into a reconstructed heterosexual male. Back then he was certainly unreconstructed – as we all were.”
