Celebrities have been clearing out their designer wardrobes to support the Wrap Up Against Poverty 2012 initiative
Set up by the national charity Elizabeth Finn Care the initiative aims to raise vital funds for those who cannot afford essential clothing.
Items that will be auctioned on eBay to raise funds include a chic leather jacket from Sienna Miller, a vibrant purple Alberta Ferretti coat from Dame Helen Mirren and a cosy Missoni jumper from Richard Branson.
According to the Elizabeth Finn Care charity there are 13.5 million people living below the poverty line in the UK.
Malcolm Tyndall, director of the charity explained that funds raised from the auction will enable them, ‘to help even more people find and access the help they desperately need.’
Lisa Snowdon who donated a Chanel hat, explained that she got involved because: ‘It’s unbelievable to think that so many people go without warm clothes through the winter, and by bidding in the auction everyone can help to change lives for the better.’
The auction takes place from the 26th January to the 26th February.
