Sienna is attending the BAFTA TV Awards in London tonight, where she is nominated for Leading Actress in 2013 for her performance in The Girl. I don’t think her category has been announced yet so we’ll keep you updated on how that pans out! Sienna is wearing a cute little dress by her good friend Matthew Williamson, and is accompanied by her sis Savannah. We have the first few photos from the red carpet in our Gallery, and more will follow. There are also a few articles with quotes from the red carpet.
Unfortunately Sienna did not win the award for Leading Actress, it instead went to Sheridan Smith for Mrs Biggs … Sienna and Sheridan seem to have stayed friends after working in Flare Path together, so we’re sure Sienna is happy for her friend! Big congratulations to Sienna for the nomination which is a fantastic achievement
Sienna Miller, who is up for best actress for playing American model and actress Tippi Hedren in The Girl, said on the red carpet: “It was a great role because there was an awful lot to get my teeth into,” adding that it was going to be a “fun night”.
British actor David Harewood, who is in US drama Homeland, said he was “very lucky to be a part of it” adding: “Superman’s British, Batman’s British, Spider-Man’s British – it’s great that British actors are having such success abroad”.
Toby Jones is nominated in the best leading actor category for his performance as film director Hitchcock in The Girl, alongside Ben Whishaw who is in the running for playing Richard II.
Jones said on the red carpet: “It’s interesting playing Alfred Hitchcock in any way at all, he’s a huge personality.”
He added that the drama portrayed “one of the darker passages of his life”, adding that there was “a nervousness” at portraying him but that “hopefully I managed to balance out the darker side with the more understandable side”. He said his father was nominated in the soap opera category so it was a family event for him.
‘I was pregnant and craving sweets so I had one pocket full of sweets and then maggots in the other for the birds,’ she told Metro. ‘So I almost ate maggot!’
Hinting she’s done with life in front of the camera for now, Miller said: ‘I’ve got a baby so I’m trying to chill out a little bit. Baby is more important.’
As for her forthcoming wedding to fiancé Tom Sturridge, 27, Si was not so forthcoming and said, ‘I’m not talking about that.’
Huge congratulations to Sienna for scoring yet another major award nomination for her performance in The Girl, this time from the BAFTA Television Awards! Her nomination for Leading Actress in 2013 is one of 4 nominations the TV movie received, so congrats go to the other cast and crew for that too.
The BAFTA Television Awards will be held on Sunday May 12th.

Sienna did indeed attended the Golden Globe Awards last night, and she looks fabulous in a very unique floral gown by Erdem! She paired the dress with Giuseppe Zanotti shoes, and Van Cleef & Arpels earrings. While Sienna didn’t win her Best Actress In A Mini-Series award, it’s still really exciting to see her attending and be nominated at such a prestigious Hollywood event!
I haven’t had time to gather or add many photos from this event yet, so for now here are the first few HQs. More will be added in the next day or two.
What do you all think of Sienna’s Golden Globe look?
The Golden Globe Award nominations were announced a few hours ago, and I almost jumped with joy upon hearing Sienna’s name! ‘My most embarrassing moment? Coughing up a greeny on to the script in front of me while doing an audition with bronchitis’
Sienna Miller, 30, was born in New York and educated in England. Having studied drama at the Lee Strasberg Institute in New York, she made her film debut in 2004 in Matthew Vaughn’s Layer Cake. Her other movies include Alfie, Casanova, Factory Girl, Interview and GI Joe: The Rise Of Cobra. In 2005, she made her West End debut in As You Like It at the Young Vic. She performed on Broadway in After Miss Julie and appeared in Terence Rattigan’s Flare Path in London last year. She plays Alfred Hitchcock’s muse Tippi Hedren in The Girl, which airs on BBC2 this month. In July, she had a daughter, Marlowe, with her partner, the actor Tom Sturridge.
When were you happiest?
7 July 2012.
What is your greatest fear?
Losing someone I love.
What is your earliest memory?
My dad’s shoes: funny blue 1980s trainers with an N on the side.
Which living person do you most admire and why?
Liu Xiaobo, for his dignity and wisdom. If we could all have a dose of that perspective, the world would be a better place.
The actress plays Hitchcock muse/obsession Tippi Hedren in a new HBO docudrama.
Sienna Miller is nestled on a sofa, barefoot and clad in a fuzzy sweater. Her dad has just stopped by, giving his daughter a new cellphone that she has yet to program. Her infant daughter, Marlowe, is asleep in the closed-off bedroom.
It’s mom’s first day back at the office since hibernating with Marlowe and her father, Miller’s fiance Tom Sturridge, in London, and Miller feels a bit discombobulated, but also pleasantly revived.
“I have a great job because my baby can come to work with me. We’ve been the three of us and that’s been fantastic. And now I have to do some work,” she says. “I’ve fortunately hired a nanny. I’m feeding every three hours so I’m still in it. She’s a fast feeder. It’s fortunate. When she gets older and is in school, we’ll work it out. She’s the most important thing. I don’t want to be anywhere except near her.”
At this point, where mom goes, baby follows. And Miller, 30, is in Manhattan promoting HBO’s The Girl, which tells the creepily obsessive relationship that legendary director Alfred Hitchcock had with actress Tippi Hedren. She starred in two films for him, 1963′s The Birds and 1964′s Marnie. After she rejected his advances, he shut down her career.
Firstly, sorry about my slowness with these photos! It’s been a busy few weeks. Anyway: back on the weekend of October 6th and 7th, Sienna was at the Hamptons Film Festival to promote The Girl. On the Saturday she attended a screening for the film, alongside co-star Toby Jones, and their director Julian Jarold. Sienna looked very elegant in a floor length ivory dress by Alessandra Rich with her hair left down and straight. The following day she was the guest of honour at Variety’s Performers Brunch, at which she was named the One To Acclaim. Here, she paired her Sea NY Drawstring Combo Pants with a white shirt, black cardigan, and red flats – an eclectic look from Miss Miller! It’s so great to be seeing her out and about again – and promoting a (tv-)movie none-the-less!
Photos from both events have been added to our Gallery…
Huge congrats to Sienna for being named Variety’s One To Acclaim at this years Hamptons International Film Festival! This is a big honour from such a prestigious publication. We’re really happy for her.
It sounds like The Girl is premiereing at the Hamptons Film Festival this Sunday … I don’t know whether this is a red carpet event as such, and whether Sienna will be attending, so we’ll have to wait and see….
(More The Girl posts & reviews coming asap!)
BREAKTHROUGH PERFORMERS OF 2012
Variety’s 10 To Watch program began over 15 years ago, when we started annually celebrating breakthrough actors, directors, screenwriters, producers, comics, and cinematographers. But over our 107 years of publishing, Variety has really always served as a spotlight for important new film talents, since the very beginnings of cinema.
We’ve also served as spotlight for important new film festivals, having been there on day one of Venice, Berlin, Cannes, and virtually all of the other festivals major and less known, since the first “sprocket opera”––as we call them in our Slanguage––unspooled.
To bring VARIETY ’S 10 ACTORS TO WATCH : BREAKTHROUGH PERFORMERS OF 2012 to the Hamptons International Film Festival really marries two of our most joyous and important enterprises. In addition to Variety’s 10 Actors to Watch, we’re also thrilled to present Sienna Miller with VARIETY ’S ONE TO ACCLAIM AWARD. Miller, a 10 Actors to Watch alumni, was first spotlighted by Variety almost a decade ago. Since her arrival on the film scene, she’s starred in FACTORY GIRL, CASANOVA , INTERVIEW , and G.I. JOE, and now takes on one of the most exciting and demanding roles of her career, starring as Tippi Hedren alongside Toby Jones’ Alfred Hitchcock in the new roman à clef, THE GIRL. In a little over a decade, HIFF has become an essential part of the fall film calendar and distinguished itself as an important platform for new and established filmmakers from around the globe. It is an honor for Variety to work with the first-rate HIFF team including Lina Todd, Program Director, Breakthrough Performers; David Nugent, HIFF Director of Programming; and Karen Arikian, Executive Director. Thanks to HIFF, the Variety spotlight will shine even brighter on these ten incredible acting talents and we’ll have the pleasure of knowing this weekend at the Hamptons was a special time and place to celebrate these ten new “thesps” destined to move, excite, and entertain audiences all over the world.
This is interesting news … I wonder what changes we will see coming from it …
Deadline.com: Sienna Miller has signed with The Schiff Company for management. Miller most recently starred in the HBO/BBC co-production The Girl, which airs later this year. Miller is among several new clients who’ve joined David Schiff’s company this year, with others that include Jeremy Piven, Jeremy Sisto, Janet McTeer, Jonathan Schaech, Ryan Eggold, David Stenn, Martin Weisz, and Brittany Snow.
Don’t expect Sienna Miller to be taking much maternity leave after she gives birth to her child by Tom Sturridge later this year. The actress says that she’s planning a swift return to theatre.
“It’s something I’m addicted to,” confesses Miller. “I’m thinking of doing another play relatively soon. I’ve been offered something that I’m thinking about.”
The next project for the 30-year-old star of Flare Path could be a memorable one, as she’s revealed her love for physical theatre. She has spoken about her unrealised dream of going to Jacques Lecoq, the physical theatre school, in Paris.

We will not be posting candid photos of Sienna out and about with her baby. Sienna seems to be in a happy and comfortable place in her life, and it feels wrong to intrude on that, especially when she has appeared upset in recent candid photos. We are a fansite here to support and respect Sienna, and don't want to take part in something that she doesn't seem happy with anymore. We will still be posting candids of her by herself, unless she looks upset. We hope you will understand this decision! Read more, and have your say, here.
